Description
BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of 17 Commemorative and Promotional Advertising Belt Buckles
This lot features 17 cast metal belt buckles encompassing themes of Western heritage, corporate advertising, mining, and regional commemorative events. The collection includes several Western-themed buckles with Wells Fargo and Company and American Express Company branding, depicting stagecoaches, steam locomotives, and historical stage lines. Promotional and corporate buckles in the group include an Anheuser-Busch Budweiser piece, a 1903 Coca-Cola Company buckle, and a circular Propert’s Leather and Saddle Soap buckle. Industrial and mining interests are represented by a set of four Alligator Ridge Mine buckles (including safety awards for 1983, 1984, and 1985), a Smith-Gruner mining equipment buckle, and a Komatsu crawler tractor buckle. Also included are a Colorado gold panner buckle and two small 1993 U.S. Olympic Festival commemorative buckles from San Antonio. One brown leather belt is included with an attached American Express Co Wells, Butterfield & Co buckle.
The reverse of the historical Western-themed buckles features various stamped and embossed marks including Tiffany New York, Tiffany Studio New York, and Tiffany Broadway New York Rare Stones with a central TNY shield. One buckle features an eagle emblem over Tiffany & Co. These markings are consistent with 20th-century fantasy or commemorative reproduction pieces. Other visible markings include Custom Buckle Gifts Las Vegas Nevada Solid Bronze, a Denver maker mark with initials J J, and a property mark on the reverse of the American Express belt buckle. The items are primarily constructed from cast brass and bronze alloys.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition overall. Pieces exhibit varying degrees of surface tarnish, light scratches, and localized green oxidation (verdigris) consistent with age and storage. The brown leather belt shows moderate wear from use, including surface scuffing and creasing.
