A collection of twelve vintage DC Comics featuring the Legion of Super-Heroes, primarily published between 1976 and 1983. The lot features a significant run of Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes with cover art by Mike Grell. Included issues are Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #221 (Giant-sized, November 1976), #222 (two copies, December 1976), #223 (January 1977), #224 (February 1977), #225 (March 1977), #226 (April 1977), #227 (May 1977), #228 (June 1977), and #229 (July 1977). Also present is DC Super-Stars #3 (May 1976) starring the Legion of Super-Heroes and the milestone anniversary issue The Legion of Super-Heroes #300 (June 1983), featuring a cover by Keith Giffen and Larry Mahlstedt. A notable key issue in this collection is Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #226, which features the first appearance of the character Dawnstar.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall mid-grade condition, estimated in the Fine to Very Fine (FN/VF) range. The comics exhibit light to moderate spine stress lines and minor corner blunting consistent with age and handling. Issue #223 shows more pronounced wear to the lower right corner of the front cover. Covers generally remain bright with flat surfaces and are securely attached at the staples. All issues are raw and ungraded.
