This is a collection of eleven vintage comic books from the series DC Comics Presents, published by DC Comics during the Bronze Age between 1980 and 1981. The collection consists of issues 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, and 37. Each issue features Superman teaming up with a different hero from the DC Universe, including Doctor Fate, Deadman, Phantom Stranger, The Spectre, Black Canary, Robin the Teen Wonder, Shazam!, the Shazam! Family, Man-Bat, Starman, and Hawkgirl. Notable cover and interior artists represented in this lot include Jim Starlin, George Perez, Ross Andru, Dick Giordano, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, and Rich Buckler. Several issues feature the Whatever Happened to…? backup series updating characters such as Hourman, Dr. Mid-Nite, the Golden Age Atom, Robotman, Star Hawkins, and Rip Hunter. Issue 36 features the villain Mongul the Merciless. The comics are standard American format, raw and ungraded, each housed in an individual protective plastic sleeve with a cardboard backing.
Condition report:
Visual inspection indicates the comics are in mid-to-high grade condition, generally appearing to fall within the Very Good to Near Mint range. The covers retain high gloss and vibrant color saturation. Spines appear mostly flat with minimal stress lines. No significant structural defects, cover detachments, or major creasing are visible through the protective packaging.
