This lot features a collection of six contemporary comic books primarily published by Image Comics and its associated imprints between 1996 and 2015. The selection focuses on fantasy, adventure, and bad girl art themes. Each issue is presented in an individual protective bag and board.
The collection includes:
Michael Turner’s Fathom number 1 (Top Cow/Image Comics, August 1998). This is a key issue featuring the first appearance of Aspen Matthews. The cover and interior art are by Michael Turner, with signatures for Turner, Weems, and J.D. Smith visible on the artwork.
Aria number 1 (Avalon Studios/Image Comics, January 1999). Written by Brian Holguin with art by Jay Anacleto. This issue features a Michael Turner sketch variant cover.
Dollz number 1 (Image Comics, August 1999). Cover by Terry Moore. This is a Dynamic Forces Gold Foil edition, indicated by the circular gold foil seal on the lower right of the front cover.
IXth Generation number 1 (Top Cow/Image Comics, 2015). Written by Matt Hawkins with art and cover by Stjepan Sejic. The issue features the character Aphrodite IX.
Grifter/Shi number 2 (Image Comics, May 1996). A crossover issue featuring Billy Tucci’s Shi and Wildstorm’s Grifter. The cover art is by Billy Tucci and bears his signature and chop mark.
Serpentina number 1a (Lightning Comics, February 1997). The premiere issue of the fantasy title from independent publisher Lightning Comics, with art by O’Leary and Cortez.
Condition report:
The comic books appear to be in mid-to-high grade condition, estimated in the Very Fine to Near Mint range. Covers exhibit high gloss and bright colors. Edges and corners appear sharp with minimal shelf wear. Minor spine stress is visible through the plastic on some issues. There are no major visible defects such as tears, cover detachment, or significant creasing. None of the items are professionally graded or slabbed.
