This lot consists of three vintage issues of The Adventures of Bob Hope, a celebrity-themed comic book series published by DC Comics (National Periodical Publications). The collection includes issue number 5 (October-November 1950) featuring a 10 cent cover price and cover art depicting Bob Hope on a camel; issue number 81 (July 1963) with a 12 cent cover price and a haunted house theme; and the milestone issue number 100 (September 1966) with a 12 cent cover price featuring Super-Hip and the Faculty of Benedict Arnold High. The comics are all individual issues housed in protective plastic sleeves with cardboard backing boards.
Condition report:
The issues are in varied raw condition. Issue 5 (1950) is in Poor to Fair condition, displaying heavy chipping and tearing at the bottom edge, significant spine wear, and surface staining. Issue 81 (1963) is in Fair to Good condition, noted for paper loss along the spine edge, heavy creasing, and minor tears at the bottom. Issue 100 (1966) is in the best condition of the group, assessed as Good to Very Good, with minor spine stress marks, small tears on the right edge, and age-related tanning of the paper.
