This collection consists of 13 modern-age comic books published by DC Comics and its mature-readers imprint, Vertigo. The lot features three complete four-issue limited series and one individual key issue, with a primary focus on simian-themed characters.
The lot includes a complete run of Finals issues 1 through 4, published by Vertigo/DC Comics between September 1999 and December 1999. This series was written by Will Pfeifer with cover art provided by Jill Thompson.
Also included is the complete four-issue mini-series Congo Bill, published by Vertigo/DC Comics from October 1999 to January 2000. This series was written by Scott Cunningham with cover art by Danijel Zezelj.
The collection further contains the complete run of Congorilla issues 1 through 4, published by DC Comics from September 1992 to February 1993. This series was written by Steve Englehart with art by Steve Vokes. Issue 1 is noted on the cover as the First bone-crunching issue!.
The final item is Secret Origins issue 40, published by DC Comics in May 1989. This issue features cover art by Kevin Maguire and contains the origin stories for three ape-themed characters: Gorilla Grodd, Congorilla, and Detective Chimp.
Condition report:
All 13 comics are in raw, ungraded condition. Based on visual inspection, the issues appear to be in Very Fine to Near Mint (VF/NM) condition. Covers are flat with vibrant colors and original gloss. Spines appear tight with minimal stress lines. Corners are sharp on the majority of the issues. There are no visible spine splits, cover detachments, or significant surface wear. All items are stored in individual protective bags and backing boards.
