BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Autographed NCAA Men’s Basketball Photographs and Memorabilia
This collection of collegiate basketball memorabilia focuses primarily on the Duke University Blue Devils program from the early 2000s, alongside items from other notable NCAA programs. The group includes multiple autographed photographs and team posters. Duke University items consist of a color action photograph of J.J. Redick signed in black ink, a color photograph of Chris Duhon signed in black ink with his jersey number 21, and a black and white promotional print of Shelden Williams signed in silver ink which includes player biographical data. Two multi-signed 2003-2004 Duke Blue Devils team posters are included, featuring signatures attributed to Mike Krzyzewski, J.J. Redick, Shelden Williams, Chris Duhon, Shavlik Randolph, and Luol Deng. One poster carries the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. logo. Additional items include a color photograph of Indiana University player Ray Tolbert inscribed God Bless, Ray Tolbert 3 in front of championship banners, and a color action photograph of Butler University player Matt Howard from the 2011 NCAA Tournament inscribed Matt Howard 54 Go Dawgs!. The collection also contains a signed print of the 2003 National Championship game between Syracuse and Kansas inscribed To: Aimee Best Wishes, and a signed clipping featuring Georgia Tech and Clemson players with a newspaper box score, also inscribed to Aimee. Several handwritten identification notes for J.J. Redick, Chris Duhon, and Patrick Ewing Jr. are present. None of the autographs are accompanied by third-party certificates of authenticity.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The items appear to be in good overall condition with some pieces mounted on white cardstock backings. Minor surface wear and edge softening consistent with handling and storage are visible. No major tears or significant fading to the inks are observed.
