This collection comprises 15 individual comic books featuring Sergio Aragones’ Groo the Wanderer, published by Marvel Comics under the Epic Comics imprint between 1987 and 1991. The issues included in this lot are number 33, 35, 36, 39, 41, 42, 43, 45, 72, 74, 77, 78, 79, 80, and 82. Each cover displays the characteristic cartooning style of Sergio Aragones. Issues 80 and 82 are specifically subtitled The Legend of Thaiis. The Marvel brand logo and the Epic Comics imprint logo are clearly visible on the front covers of each book. The issue numbers, release months, and years are located in the upper-left corner information boxes along with the original $1.00 US cover price. Issues 35, 41, 45, and 72 feature the Spider-Man head icon in the UPC barcode area, denoting direct market distribution.
Condition report:
The comic books appear to be in mid-to-high grade, ranging from Very Fine to Near Mint. The covers retain bright, saturated colors with no significant fading or surface wear visible through the packaging. The spines appear flat with minimal stress lines, and there are no signs of cover detachment or major creasing. Each item is housed in an individual protective clear poly-bag with a cardboard backer board. Several of the protective bags have secondary price stickers from previous retail sale attached to the exterior. The items have not been professionally graded.
