Description

BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A collection of seven vintage original promotional posters produced by Marvel Comics for retailer distribution between 1986 and 1988. These posters were originally provided to comic book shops to advertise upcoming releases and milestone issues and are marked Not For Resale or Property of Marvel Comics. The group includes one 1987 New Universe promotional poster featuring characters from DP7, Justice, Psi-Force, and The Starbrand with the tagline Today We Blew Up Pittsburgh. Tomorrow…?. One 1988 A Milestone Month poster promotes the anniversary issues of The Avengers number 300, Captain America number 350, and The Mighty Thor number 400. One 1988 humor line parody poster titled The Uncanny X-Men? Not X-actly features characters in the style of Bullwinkle and Alf. One 1988 Speedball The Masked Marvel poster advertises the premiere of issue number 1 with credits to Steve Ditko, Roger Stern, and Jackson Guice. One 1988 Semper Fi poster promotes the premiere of the military series with credits to Michael P. Palladino, John Severin, Sam Glanzman, and Andy Kubert. The collection also includes two identical 1986 Strikeforce Morituri posters featuring black and white line art by Brent Anderson and Scott Williams with a script by Peter B. Gillis. Most items bear the printed copyright of Marvel Entertainment Group, Inc. or Marvel Comics Group along the bottom edge with respective years 1986, 1987, and 1988.
