BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Six Graphic Story World and Wonderworld Comic Fanzines
This collection consists of six vintage fanzine magazines and newsletters published by Graphic Story Arts and edited by Richard Kyle during the early 1970s. The group includes various issues of Graphic Story World and its successor publication, Wonderworld, which focused on the study of comic book history, creators, and the underground comix scene. The set includes Graphic Story World issue number 4 (December 1971) featuring articles on Fort Navajo and L.A. underground comics; two copies of issue number 5 featuring Bill Everett and the Naming of Namor; a July 1972 issue with an interview with Dan Spiegle and features on Jack Kirby and EC Comics; and a September 1972 issue featuring Jerry De Fuccio and Mart Bailey’s Alias…The Owl. Also included is Wonderworld number 9 (August 1973), featuring Greg and Hermann’s The Victims, Penn and Chris by Dan Spiegle, and an adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Pellucidar by Roy Thomas and Ross Andru. The publications feature black and white cover art and interior illustrations with cover prices ranging from forty to seventy-five cents.
Condition report:
The items are in ungraded, raw condition. The September 1972 issue of Graphic Story World shows notable staining in the upper left quadrant of the front cover. Generally, all issues show expected signs of age, including moderate yellowing of the paper stock and minor shelf wear to the edges and corners. Staples show minor oxidation in some issues, and standard spine stress is present throughout the collection. No significant cover detachment is observed.
