Title: The Cat (Beware! The Claws of… The Cat)
This lot consists of three vintage comic books from 1973, representing the final three issues of the character’s original four-issue solo run. The series features Greer Nelson, the character who would later evolve into the Marvel hero known as Tigra.
Issue 2: Dated January 1973 with a 20 cent cover price. Features a story titled The Owl and the Pussycat, with cover art attributed to John Romita Sr.
Issue 3: Dated April 1973 with a 20 cent cover price. Features a story titled Kill! Cries the Kraken!, with cover art attributed to Jim Starlin and Joe Sinnott.
Issue 4: Dated June 1973 with a 20 cent cover price. This is the final issue of the solo series and features a battle against Man-Bull titled Stampede!. Cover art is by John Romita Sr. and Tony Mortellaro, as indicated by the artists’ inscription on the lower left of the cover.
All comics are stored individually in protective plastic bags with acid-free backing boards.
Condition report:
These are raw, uncertified copies. Visual inspection through the protective sleeves suggests the comics are in mid-to-high grade condition. Covers show vibrant color saturation and a glossy finish. Spines appear flat and tight with minimal stress lines. Corners are relatively sharp for the age of the publications. No major creasing, staining, or cover detachment is apparent from the front views provided. Items are sold as-is; internal pages and back covers have not been inspected outside of the packaging.
