BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of 28 1961 A&BC World Sporting Greats Trading Cards

This lot features 28 vintage sports trading cards from the 1961 World Sporting Greats set issued by A. & B.C. Chewing Gum Ltd. The collection includes a diverse range of international sporting figures across multiple disciplines. High-profile subjects include Australian cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman (card 14), American heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis (card 12), and Argentine Formula 1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio (card 16). Other notable athletes present are Jack Brabham (card 4), Garfield Sobers (card 30), Emil Zatopek (card 30), Bobby Locke (card 9), John Cobb (card 22), Fanny Blankers-Koen (card 8), Maria Bueno (card 6), Sir Gordon Richards (card 10), and the swimming duo the Konrads (card 16). The cards are printed on card stock with color illustrations on the obverse and biographical text with card numbering on the reverse. Several cards are housed in protective plastic top-loaders, including one Bobby Locke card in a holder embossed with the words Rookie Card. Some holders bear stickers from a March 2017 Gem Mint Sports Cards auction (lots 022 and 179) and one includes a handwritten price tag of five dollars. The set contains multiple copies of specific athletes, including Jack Brabham and Emil Zatopek.

Condition report:

All cards are in raw, ungraded condition. The lot is in overall mid-grade condition. Corners show typical softening and light rounding consistent with the age of the set. Minor edge wear and slight chipping are visible on several examples. Centering varies across the collection, with some cards being notably off-center. Surfaces generally retain good color and clarity, though minor surface marks or light staining may be present upon close inspection.
