This lot features two original personal checks signed by National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees Buck Leonard and Rick Ferrell. The first check, number 1605, is issued from the account of Mr. and Mrs. Walter F. Leonard of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Dated March 18, 1988, the check is drawn on Planters Bank and made payable to Lewis Davis for 96.00 dollars. It features a bold signature by Walter Leonard in blue ink. The reverse side bears the endorsement of Lewis G. Davis Jr. and a James Spence Authentication (JSA) tamper-evident hologram. The second check, number 192, is issued from the account of Richard B. Ferrell of Harper Woods, Michigan. Dated November 29, 1974, it is drawn on Michigan National Bank of Detroit and made payable to Cash for 100.00 dollars. It is signed Richard B. Ferrell on the front signature line and endorsed Richard B. Ferrell on the reverse. Both signatures are in blue ink. Condition report:
Both checks are in very good condition with standard bank processing marks, including cancellation perforations, ink stamps, and date stamps. There is light handling wear and minor toning consistent with the age of the paper. The signatures remain clear and legible without significant obstruction from bank markings.
