This collection consists of six vintage Marvel comic books from the series Speedball, The Masked Marvel, published between 1988 and 1989. The group includes the key first issue (September 1988), issue number 6 (February 1989), two copies of issue number 7 (March 1989), issue number 8 (April 1989), and issue number 9 (May 1989). These comics feature the work of legendary co-creator and artist Steve Ditko, alongside artists such as Jackson Guice and various inkers. Issue numbers 1 and 6 are newsstand editions identified by the UPC barcodes on the front covers. Issue numbers 7, 8, and 9 are direct market editions featuring the Spider-Man head illustration in the lower corner box. All issues show a cover price of 75 cents US. Condition report:
The comics are raw, unslabbed copies generally appearing in mid-to-high grade condition. Issue number 1 shows minor spine stress and light corner blunting. Issue number 6 displays visible spine stress lines along the left edge. Issue numbers 7, 8, and 9 exhibit generally sharp covers with minor handling wear consistent with age, including light spine ticks and minor edge blunting. No major tears, stains, or detached covers are visible. Two copies are currently housed in protective sleeves with backing boards.
