ITEM DESCRIPTION: Collection of Vintage Hollywood Press Photographs
This collection features vintage black and white press and publicity photographs dating from the late 1930s. Included are studio stills for Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., and 20th Century-Fox, featuring actresses such as Gloria Stuart and Anne Gwynne. One photograph bears a handwritten signature reading Jean Parker Zenobia. The lot also contains historical prints from Wide World Photos and American Airlines, accompanied by original typed press releases.
Condition report:
The collection shows condition defects consistent with age and professional press use. Several prints exhibit significant tears and paper loss along the edges and corners (photo 1, 4). Creasing, surface tanning, and adhesive residue are present throughout the group (photo 8, 11, 14). Some typed captions show staining and edge wear (photo 5, 13).
