This collection of promotional barware for Carstairs White Seal Blended Whiskey features several molded plastic advertising pieces from the mid-20th century. The assembly includes a blue plastic display cup decorated with a raised white seal and red ball, resting in a stepped blue plastic base. The front of the base is printed with yellow lettering reading Ask for CARSTAIRS and includes smaller white text specifying the blend as 86 proof with 72 percent grain neutral spirits, manufactured by Carstairs Bros. Distilling Co. Inc., N.Y.C. Also included are two red plastic circular buckets or bowls featuring white printed graphics of the brand mascot and text reading CARSTAIRS WHITE SEAL. Fine print along the bottom edge of these buckets notes the company’s connections to Baltimore, MD and Louisville, KY. Completing the lot are two figural premiums in off-white plastic, each depicting a seal balancing a red ball while perched on a pedestal marked CARSTAIRS.
Condition report:
Items are in good vintage condition overall with minor surface wear consistent with age. There is light scuffing and accumulated dust present on all pieces. The smaller seal figures exhibit some yellowing of the plastic and minor surface grime. The printed graphics on the red buckets and the blue display stand show light wear but remain clear.
